Role of computed tomography imaging in the diagnosis of blunt and penetrating abdominal trauma injuries

Background: The present study was conducted with the primary aim of evaluating role computed tomography imaging in assessment blunt abdominal trauma (BAT) and penetrating injuries. Methods: This prospective comprised 53 patients BAT PAT injuries referred from emergency department to radio-diagnosis for ultrasonography CT. Multidetector scans were performed on GE Bright Speed Elite 16 slice CT Scanner. various seen images grouped examined based injury site organs involved. Results: majority subjects, i.e., 17/53 (32.08%) belonged age group 20-30 yrs. Out 48 had 5 PAT. subjects who BAT, 26/48 RTA, cause trauma, out assault trauma. most common organ injured spleen (18), followed by liver (17), bowel (15), Anterior wall (6), pancreas (1), Kidney Uterus (2), Multiple (1) Hemoperitoneum without solid (1). showed 100% accuracy diagnosis Conclusions: plays a pivotal rapid identification life-threatening is helpful prompt initiation appropriate care, which leads an increase chance survival
